Student Council

The mission of the General Studies Council is to provide an atmosphere where all General Studies Students can interact and build a strong sense of community.

This is accomplished through the following:
  • Organizing and supporting various fundraising opportunities for local community services;
  • Allocating financial funds to purchase computers for the General Studies Student Center;
  • Providing Tickets for cultural activities and events, such as Jazz on the Avenue;
  • Funding the RISE General Studies Scholarship; and
  • Financially supporting the Graduation Celebration.

Getting involved in your education is key to your success at IUPUI. Involvement can come in a variety of ways and should include joining the General Studies Student Council. The mission of the General Studies Council is to provide an atmosphere where all General Studies Students can interact and build a strong sense of community. Some events being planned for this year include Toys for Tots Drive, Jazz on the Avenue, and General Studies T-shirt Design just to name a few!

All General Studies Students are encouraged to join. Being involved in different organizations enhances your resume. Students involved in degree program activities such as student council have a higher employment and interview rate and are much more confident when moving onto their professional stage in life.
